So, I have been going on about how great ethical, organic, non toxic beauty products are for you and your babies and since going non toxic I have seen a significant improvement in my skin, so I truly do believe in them.
I can imagine some of you out there are thinking “Sure Laura! I can see where you’re coming from but it’s going to be expensive to change up all my products…..” I totally get that especially during pregnancy as there are so many other maternity/baby bits we need to be buying! Also, ethical and organic beauty products do cost a little more as the quality of the ingredients and the development process is so much higher.
It doesn’t need to be as expensive as you might think though, I know I’m budgeting myself! In the name of self care take the time out to treat yourself during your pregnancy and experiment with some organic beauty goodies.
Here are some suggestions of how you can try organic beauty products and not break the bank.
Organic Beauty Subscription Boxes
Subscription boxes are a brilliant, cost effective way for trying out new products and they’re delivered straight to your door, can’t sniff at that!
Love Lula – I have been getting the Love Lula box for the last few months on a recurring monthly basis at £13.95. The value of the box is much higher than that!
Click here to see their other options.
The box comes with a card inside outlining the products and with a discount code so you can order any products you particularly like at a discounted price. To name a couple, I have received some great products form PHB Ethical Beauty and John Master Organics hair products.
The Natural Beauty Box – I came across The Natural Beauty Box on Instagram, it includes carefully curated natural products in a mixture of full size and travel size. It’s £24.95 for one month, and you can get even more of a deal if you pre-pay for 3 or 6 months. Also, for every box sold, 50p is donated to a like minded charity of their choice. I haven’t had the chance to try this one yet as they sell out at super speed!
Gentle Mamas – I also found Gentle Mamas on Instagram, there really is a great organic beauty/lifestyle network on there! This subscription box particularly focusses on mamas and their babies and is sent quarterly rather than monthly. It comes in three sizes starting at £25 up to £55 and what’s really cool is you can select the babies age (starting at third trimester) so you get the most appropriate products in your chosen box. As well as organic beauty products there is also organic lifestyle such as baby accessories and clothing, including BabyMori a bamboo/organic cotton baby clothing range.
Naturisimo and Love Lula offer mini sizes in a wide range of products that you can purchase starting at £1. You do need to make a full price purchase to be able to choose up to five mini products to add onto your order (On Love Lula the minimum spend is £10). I have done this plenty of times and find it’s a great way to try out different products without making the commitment of having to buy full size.
Go try and let me know how you get on!
